Have you ever been around Â someone who complained and made excuses about everything in their life?Â How did you feel after being around that Â person?Â My guess is that you couldn’t Â wait to be free of them.Â No one in their Â right mind enjoys being around a negative person.Â They are TOXIC and they bring you down.
The person I would much rather Â choose to be around is the individual that has a positive outlook on life.Â They have an “Attitude of Â Gratitude”.Â This person makes the Â choice to be joyful, even when times are tough. Â They live by the principal of being “Thankful” rather than Â ”Toxic”.
My mother taught me early in my Â life how to develop an “Attitude of Gratitude” by following these Â life principals:
1.Â Â Â Â Â Â Don’t Worry.Â Worrying doesn’t change anything, but the Â acid level in your stomach.Â It’s Â counter-productive and a BIG waste of time.
2.Â Â Â Â Â Â Pray about EVERYTHING.Â Instead of Â worrying, use your time for praying.
3.Â Â Â Â Â Â Thank God in ALL Things.Â It’s extremely Â hard to be “Toxic” when I am giving Thanks to God.Â Did you know that the healthiest human Â emotion is not love, but gratitude. Â Studies have shown that being grateful makes you more resistant to Â stress and less susceptible to illness.
4.Â Â Â Â Â Â Focus On The GOOD.Â The best way to reduce the level of stress in Â your life, is to change the way you think. Â The way you think determines how you will feel.Â And the way you feel determines the way you Â will act.Â This involves being Â INTENTIONAL in making a conscious choice to FOCUS on the GOOD.
What are you worrying about?Â Talk to God about your worries and Â concerns.Â Confide in a close friend that Â will not judge you because you are struggling with some “Tough Stuff”.Â Think about this:Â If you had an “Attitude of Â Gratitude” as much as you worried, how do you think your life would Â change?Â Yes, times are tough, but only Â you and I can make the choice to turn our Lemons of Life into Lemonade.Â No one else can do that for us.
